RefWorks All students, faculty, and staff at Hamline can use RefWorks to manage research citations and bibliographies. The Center for Academic Technology is piloting this service to increase the quality and ease of Hamline's academic research. RefWorks appears as an option in most library databases, either as a stand alone feature or integrated into the print/save options for the database. Users can create a bibliography on the fly while searching, or set up a bibliography before searching, and select it after obtaining a citation to save.
***Please consult this documentation for assistance on using RefWorks.***

Database Features: Several of our databases vendors include a feature that will format your citation into the most-frequently used citation styles, e.g. APA, MLA. (To determine the vendor of a database, from any of the screens in your search, look at the logo in the upper left corner of the page.)
To use this feature from your list of search results, mark/check the article/s you want, then:
- CSA databases: Click on Save, Print, Email; go to the 2nd section, Create a bibliography with QuikBib; choose a format and style, and click on the Create button.
- Proquest: Click on Cite (just under the row of tabs).
- WilsonWeb: Click on Exporting/Citing (on the left menu); choose any of the first three options.
Note: Ebsco, InfoTrac, and FirstSearch do not currently offer this feature (unless you own access to EndNote, Pro-Cite, and/or RefWorks). |

American Psychological Association (APA)
Modern Language Association (MLA)
Chicago Manual of Style
Zotero is a production of the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University and is funded by the Albert P. Sloan Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
