"Urinetown: The Musical"

Parent and Family Concert
November 7, 2009 at 6:30 pm in Sundin Music Hall. This annual event showcases the terrific music ensembles that are a part of the Music Department's program. Featured groups are the Jazz Ensemble led by John Koziol, the Hamline Orchestra led by Yali You, the Hamline Winds led by Janet Greene, the A Cappella Choir led by George Chu, and the Women's Chorale directed by Kathy Thomsen. "Ruined" at Mixed Blood Theatre
November 8, 2009 at 3:00 pm in the Alan Page Auditorium of Mixed Blood's historic firehouse theatre in Minneapolis. Set in a mining region of the Congo, this Pulitzer Prize winning play follows Mama Nadi, a shrewd business woman and apolitical opportuniust in a land torn apart by civil war. After the play there will be food and conversation at Hamline. Joining us for the day will be Dr. Pamela Coutere, Dean at Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City. Dr. Coutere is currently in the Congo for her second trip to spend time with the women and learn how they have been positively dealing with war and its effects. Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra Concert

"Chopin the Storyteller" Concert

How does a composer "tell" stories without words?
