ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is required for admission. Additionally, a student should possess initial licensure. No entrance exam is required for the program. Standardized testing is replaced by an "Advance to Candidacy" portfolio developed during the first term, which demonstrates reflective practice and researched writing. The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards assessment framework is introduced through the portfolio development process.

FEE SCHEDULE:
The total tuition cost for the program will vary depending on the student. Actual cost depends on transferrable graduate work completed prior to admission and through other institutions. For academic year 2004-2005, tuition for 8000-level courses is $300 per semester credit.
Cost of elective credits that are offered through the Hamline University Continuing Studies Program varies. Students can check the Professional Development Catalog for Educators for specific course details and costs.
There is an application fee of $30 required when applying for admission to the program. The application fee is waived if application is completed on-line. There is a one-time program fee of $175 charged upon admission. This fee covers administrative costs, graduation application, commencement, diploma, capstone binding, and registration.

FINANCIAL AID:
Graduate students taking a minimum of one course per term may be eligible for a federal student loan. Information and application for this low-interest loan program are available by calling the Office of Financial Aid, 651-523-2280 or visit the Financial Aid Office.
- Veterans Benefits. Veterans are eligible to receive benefits. For assistance, students should contact the Office of the Registrar, 651-523-2209.
- Hamline Alumni. Hamline University alumni are eligible for a 10% per core course reduction in tuition. Alumni should call attention to their status on the Application for Admission form.
Tuition is due and payable in full one week prior to the start of classes. Students may choose to pay per course or via the installment plan, which allows monthly tuition payments. Contact Student Accounts at 651-523-2212.
