Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate

13 semester credits

Trained teachers working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) bring hope to families and children as they work to fully develop a student's education potential.

Certified ASD teachers help learners with ASD become active participants in society. The combined coursework in this certificate will lead to a greater understanding of the need for collaboration between schools, the community, and the families of learners with ASD to support student's overall educational plans.

Curriculum is directly aligned with the areas of competence recommended for educators working with ASD learners. Individuals with licensure in special education or related services are eligible for this unique program.

Credits earned in the ASD Certificate Program may be applied to a Master of Arts in Education Degree. Hamline's flexible program offers a variety of classroom and online opportunities from an NCATE recognized program.
