Midwest Migrant Education Resource Center

MMERC's mission is to assist upper Midwest partner states in meeting the needs of migrant children.

MMERC provides a variety of services and resources to school districts and state migrant departments in Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, No. Dakota, and So. Dakota that assist the children (ages 3-21) of migrant workers. To access partner states' migrant home pages click on the state name. 

MMERC Services and Resources

  • free access to over 15,000 education materials
  • audiovisuals, books, many of which are bilingual or in Spanish; games and manipulatives for hands-on learning: visit our online catalog
  • thematic multi-media unit boxes
  • teacher and parent references
  • materials appropriate for ESL (English as a Second Language)
  • state teacher workshops, inservices, or site visits to meet specific district needs or topics
