Celebrating the Birth of the GLBT Movement

June 28, 1969, The Stone Wall Inn, New York City - A movement began with dancing queens, radical riots and a growing backlash against the unjust treatment of members of the queer community in the U.S. Before Matthew Shepard, hate crime legislation, Harvey Milk, the Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy and the debate over civil unions and gay marriage, there was Stonewall. The Safe Zone Network invites you to explore and celebrate the birth of the modern-day GLBT movement for inclusion and justice. The program features video, discussion, history, and empowerment with refreshments.
