Moving onto campus in the fall? We can’t wait to have you! Below, you will find important dates and information to prepare for moving in.

Look for our email with move-in day logistics

All new and returning students will receive a very detailed email from Residential Life that will walk you through everything you need to know about move-in day logistics. The email will include information on: 

  • Hall, room, and roommate assignments
  • Good-to-know info (i.e., approved appliances, room dimensions, etc.)
  • Key packets
  • Dorm room bedding, care packages
  • Early arrival details
  • Student I.D. cards
  • Addresses for pick-up locations
  • Parking info and State Fair traffic
  • Elevators, moving bins, move-in day supplies
  • Piper football players helping on move-in day
  • All move-in day details

Move-in dates

  • New students: Thursday, August 22, 2024
  • Returning students: Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25, 2024

Move-in information

  • Move-in day time slots – new students (August 22) @ Anderson Center: 
    Will be assigned based on your last name initial and times between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The comprehensive email mentioned above will include your exact move-in day and time slot and plenty of extra information to help you plan and prepare for move-in day. 

  • Move-in day time slots - returning students: (August 23 to 25) @ West Hall / Suite 106-A:
    Will be assigned based on your last name initial, and times will be between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The comprehensive email mentioned above will include your exact move-in day and time slot and plenty of extra information to help you plan and prepare for move-in day. 

  • Moving in:
    We will help you find your residence hall so you can begin your move. Resident assistants and Residential Life team members will be available across campus and in the residence halls to help answer any questions you have while moving in.

Early arrival information

  • Students who are part of an authorized early arrival group (football, soccer, volleyball, student leaders, international students, cheer, etc.) who will be moving in before move-in day, August 22, 2024, will receive information from your coach, group advisor, or director.
  • Your team leads are in communication with Residential Life, and they will communicate (to you) the approved arrival days, time frames, and additional instructions for checking in and where on campus to go to get your check-in packets.
  • Student I.D. cards can be picked up at Hamline Public Safety in Sorin Hall, located at 1535 Englewood Avenue or call 651-523-2100.
