Talent scholarships are available to first-year, transfer, and international undergraduate students. Departments at Hamline give these scholarships out to recognize excellence across disciplines. The amounts vary up to the listed amounts below. Use the links in the table below to find out if you’re eligible to apply.

Criteria

Business scholarships Up to $3,000 Selection made by business faculty. Business or economics major required.
Digital and studio art scholarships Up to $3,000

Studio art: Selection made by digital and studio art faculty. Portfolio and digital and studio art major with a concentration in fine arts required.

Digital media arts: Selection made by digital and studio art faculty based on interview (by invitation). Work sample and digital and studio art major with a concentration in graphic and interactive design or a concentration in media arts required.

Music scholarships Up to $5,000 Selection based on audition (by invitation). Music majors, minors, and participants in music programs are eligible to apply.
Science/STEM scholarships Up to $3,000 Open to any student with a demonstrated interest in, or aptitude for, a science/STEM major.
Theatre scholarships Up to $3,000 Selection based on audition and/or interview (if interest is not related to acting). Theatre arts majors, minors, and participants in tech design, stage crew, and theatre-related programs are eligible to apply.
Writing scholarship Up to $3,000 Selection made by English faculty. Writing sample required. Open to any student with an aptitude for writing and/or writing potential.

The music that I had been working on, the writing I had done, the classes I had taken before—I was able to get credit for that work in the form of financial aid.

Fulford-Karp Physics Scholarship

First-year students who have demonstrated interest in pursuing a degree in the field of physics are eligible for the Fulford-Karp Scholarship, which is a full-tuition scholarship.

Fulford-Karp applications will be reviewed from February 1 until a recipient is chosen. We strongly encourage prospective students to apply by February 1.

Robbins Leadership Award

This scholarship is designed to support students who have the Eagle Scout rank or the Girl Scout Gold Award. This award is renewable annually for three additional years and is awarded in amounts varying from $1,000 to $3,000 per year.

Please note that only first-year students are eligible. Applications are due by February 1.
