Hamline University announces next president

 

Dr. Mayme Hostetter will be Hamline’s 22nd President beginning July 1, 2025

After a nationwide search, the Hamline University Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Mayme Hostetter to be the 22nd president of Hamline University. Dr. Hostetter, who was raised in the Twin Cities and attended Harvard University, earned her master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and earned her doctorate from Columbia University Teachers College. She is a founding leader and current president of the Relay Graduate School of Education in New York City.

Under Dr. Hostetter’s leadership, Relay Graduate School of Education sustained or improved many key graduate student factors, including significantly increasing the percentage of graduate students who are people of color, while increasing students’ programmatic satisfaction and sense of belonging. Dr. Hostetter will assume her role as President on July 1, 2025.
