Professors Sarah Greenman, Samantha Snyder, Stacie Bosley, and alumnus Dalton Chenoweth published County Trajectories of Pyramid Scheme Victimization in Crime, Law, and Social Change. Using group based trajectory modeling, this interdisciplinary work explores the effect that strain and social capital have on county-level pyramid scheme victimization. We found that county-level strain is related to pyramid scheme victimization, especially early adoption. This research points to the potential to analyze case data to inform preventative and monitoring strategies appropriate to local-level characteristics. Read the full article.
