Addressing and Overcoming Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever felt like you're not “smart enough" for college classes? Or that somehow you made it to where you are because of a "mistake"? Imposter syndrome is a common feeling among college students. In this workshop, students will learn about how imposter syndrome works, strategies for increasing confidence, and ways to reduce self-doubt. This workshop is open to all students and maybe of particular interest to those who are members of historically marginalized communities (e.g., BIPOC, first generation college student, immigrant, LGBTQIA+, lower social economic class and others). Our presenter is Yahaira Garcia, a Counseling Psychology doctoral student at the University of Oregon. Yahaira is the Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist graduate employee at University of Oregon Counseling Services.  Refreshments will be provided, including to-go food for members of our community who may be celebrating Ramadan. Join us on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in 111 Anderson Center from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
