Burleson Presents on Representation in STEM

Kathy Burleson, Senior Lecturer in Biology, was invited by Cengage to be a co-presenter with anatomy and physiology (A&P) textbook author Liz Co at the Human Anatomy & Physiology Society's virtual conference in September. Their webinar, "Representation at the Gateway", focused on strategies for instructors to make their A&P classes more inclusive, with the goals of closing gaps in healthcare and empowering students to be change-makers. Dr. Burleson's research on representation in A&P textbooks was featured in the presentation along with her pedagogical philosophy of building an inclusive classroom.
