Engaging Indigenous Perspectives and Community

In an effort to introduce Hamline's new institutional theme, "Engaging Indigenous Perspectives & Community" as well as provide space to further engage the common read, 'Firekeeper's Daughter' and its author Angeline Boulley for our Commitment to Community event, the Office of Inclusive Excellence highlights two upcoming campus opportunities.

Professor Angelique EagleWoman will give a presentation, titled "Tribal Nations and U.S. Relations" that will take us through the history of indigenous interactions with this country. Professor Angelique EagleWoman is the Director of the Native American Law and Sovereignty Institute at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Professor EagleWoman will be on campus Friday, October 6th at 10:30 a.m. in Sundin Hall.

Angeline Boulley will deliver a virtual presentation Tuesday, October 10th at 11:30 a.m. This can be viewed in Anderson 112 with a discussion/Q&A taking place later in the day at 5:00 p.m. Angeline will discuss the various themes in her book and connecting the significance of indigenous history to native literary works.
