"The Chair" Screenplay Readthrough

We would like to encourage all to attend the reading of "The Chair," a screenplay highlighting the rise of a Unified Black Underground Network circa 1899-2035. This screenplay -- along with 42 supporting episodes -- by Vivian and Davvie Mims, tells a story from the perspective of Saint Paul's Rondo neighborhood, and is the CJL's late fall Environmental Justice and the Law programming for the latter half of this term.

We are looking for people to attend as readers or audience members. The play reading will take place on Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5. If you are willing to attend or promote the event through an organization or class, we would be very grateful! The signup form can be accessed here.

Hamline is honored to host the first readings of this remarkable creative work; further readings will take place at the Walker West Music Academy (for MLK day early next year), and at the University of Minnesota for Black History Month.
