The Violence Prevention Project Launches

The Violence Prevention Project Research Center has officially launched at Hamline University. Located on the first floor of Drew Residence Hall, the Violence Prevention Project is dedicated to reducing violence through research that is accessible and geared toward action. The center is funded by grants from the Joyce Foundation and the Minnesota Legislature as well as individual donations.

The center is committed to generating knowledge to enlighten and empower the public, guide practitioners and drive policy decisions. The Center's executive director, Jillian Peterson, is leading a team of 12 Hamline students currently working on several high-profile projects focused on finding effective strategies to prevent gun violence.

The center will host several events this spring, including an inaugural gala on April 12th at the Anderson Center.

You can learn more at their new website - or, if you have questions, you can email violence-prevention@hamline.org.
