The Winter Showcase of Student Research and Creative Inquiry in the Classroom is coming soon. We are excited to showcase the research and creative inquiry you do in your courses. Please consider the projects you do in your courses and consider presenting your work.
When: Tuesday, December 3, 11:20 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. The initial submission of the presentation proposals (title and presenters) is due by November 15 (please complete this form). The posters will need to be submitted by Monday, November 25, 2024 for timely printing. We do not have a submission link yet - but it's coming.
What: We want to recognize and celebrate the research and creative work that your students do, not in “extra” experiences like our summer collaborative research program, but in your courses. Hamline students in all fields--humanities and natural sciences, fine arts and social sciences, education and business--do exciting research and creative work as part of their coursework. If your students did research or creative work in your summer 2024, or even spring 2024 courses and haven't had a chance to present it in one of these events previously, or are doing any now in your fall 2024 courses (check the syllabus, we bet it’s in there!), please consider encouraging or requiring them to present it at this showcase! Group projects or individual projects are welcome! All formats welcome, too. Posters? We can help! Here is a template in case you need it. Infographics? Excellent! Here is a template in case you need it. Students can also provide their audience with QR codes to other formats (such as video). We will try to include a performance stage, so performing a part of a play, a musical piece, or original poetry is welcome as well!
