Dr. Huq graduated from Brandeis University, where he completed a PhD on Enumerative Combinatorics with Dr. Ira Gessel. Afterward, he joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota, Rochester.
At UMR he led the faculty in the development of the core curriculum, and designed all the math and statistic courses with interdisciplinary components. In addition, he has been developing research in the field of curriculum design and learning, based on Threshold Concept Framework.
Since 2019, he has been working in the private sector as a CIO at Indian Eatery. Last year, he also served as a visiting assistant professor of mathematics at the University of St. Thomas.
