They received their BE in engineering physics at the University of Illinois — Champaign Urbana, their masters in experimental physics at Cornell University, completed their masters program for science and mathematics teaching at the University of St. Thomas, and completed their graduate physics PhD program (ABD) at Cornell University.
Givot has nearly 40-years of experience and has worked as a research geophysicist at Royal Dutch Shell and as a research physicist at 3M. While at 3M, Givot made seminal contributions to solar energy, electrification of vehicles, and 5G technologies, as well as high precision, high-accuracy electromagnetic measurements.
