Catherine Wassberg

Cathy Wassberg joined Hamline in May of 2009. Cathy has an extensive background in higher education and employment law, corporate litigation, non-profit board governance, strategic planning, and legal consulting. Prior to working for Hamline, she served as managing director of corporate human resources and associate general counsel at Northwest Airlines/Delta, managing employment-related litigation, and overseeing various human resources divisions. Prior to that, Cathy was a partner and co-chair of the labor and employment department at the law firm of Jenner & Block in Chicago, Illinois.

Cathy has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, Northwestern University Law School, and IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. She co-coached the same Special Olympics softball team for over a decade and provides legal representation pro bono, through the Children's Law Center of Minnesota, to children who are wards of the state or in foster care. Cathy serves on the board of directors of the Children's Law Center and the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota.

Cathy earned her JD from the University of Chicago Law School and her BA from Northern Illinois University.
