Professional Experience
I have worked in wellness centers and counseling centers at Southern Illinois University- Carbondale and at the University of St. Thomas. In addition, I have worked with survivors of traumatic brain injuries and caregivers of elderly adults. I have also taught many psychology courses. Currently, I am the advisor for the Peer Wellness Education program at Hamline.
Professional Interests
I enjoy working with college students because it is often a time of great growth for many students. I am interested in working with issues related to anxiety, identity development, trauma, stress management, and relationships. I particularly enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, members of the military, and non-traditional aged students. I often work from a strengths-based approach, in addition to using mindfulness, cognitive, and person-centered strategies.
Personal Interests
I love to spend time in the woods or on a lake, read (I’m a Hufflepuff!), go to plays, and take spontaneous Sunday afternoon naps.
