Favorite College Activity: Meeting new people! The backgrounds and circumstances of students entering colleges and universities are diverse. Some of my biggest takeaways from college came from my fellow peers as we often shared about our different cultures, backgrounds, and points of view over our much needed third cup of coffee.

I also worked as a student ambassador for the University of Iowa's Office of Admissions, where I was part of a team of students that aided in planning, coordinating, and implementing large and small special events for the University. We often got the opportunity to travel with counselors in recruiting efforts which in turn helped me discover my passion for working with prospective college students in the world of admissions. I love connecting with students and families and being a part of their college admissions journey during the pivotal point when they decide where they will commit to growing into the best version of themselves.

Interesting Fact About Me: I am fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and a self-proclaimed prodigy golfer despite picking up a club for the first time in my mid-twenties (hit par twice in my first 9 holes).

Favorite Place to Go in the Hamline-Midway Neighborhood: Ginkgo Coffeehouse! Gingko is one of those homey feeling, hipster kind of java joints. It's most commonly the stomping grounds of Hamline University students and the coffeehouse hosts live, open-mic music every Wednesday, which brings a pretty cool aspect of the community atmosphere together.

Why I Love Hamline: The people. The students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the people that call the Hamline-Midway neighborhood “home” are incredible. Welcoming, creative, involved, and passionate- our Pipers are always willing to lend a hand, challenge themselves, and support one another to reach their goals.
