Susan Kerry
Susan Kerry is the Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer, and assumed this role in May 2024. She is responsible for the full financial management of the institution’s $65M operating budget and $137M endowment. Susan holds primary responsibility for the accounting and investing of the University and provides budget and financial advice to the President and the Board of Trustees. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the financial strategies, operating and capital budgets, and system of financial reporting and controls that support the overall mission, goals, and objectives of Hamline University. She is actively involved in planning and executing strategic partnerships and oversees financial planning and funding strategies in support of Hamline’s mission. Her unit provides direct oversight to the following departments: Facilities, Budget, and Planning, Financial and Business Services, Internal Audit, Investment Management, Treasury Services, Risk Management, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
With more than 28 years of higher education experience, Susan brings the expertise to successfully ensure our financial health and sustainability, and to advance the transparency and strategic objectives of Hamline University. She most recently held the position of Senior Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer at Michigan Technological University and has worked at the University of Minnesota Duluth, the College of St. Scholastica, University of Michigan, and Ave Maria School of Law.
Susan received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University’s School of Education and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
