Swati Avasthi is the author of the novel, Split, winner of a Cybil’s Young Adult Fiction Award, a Parents' Choice Silver Award, a New Voices pick by the Association of Booksellers for Children, and an ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults pick. Her second novel, Chasing Shadows, made the best of the year lists from YALSA and School Library Journal, was listed as a top 10 of the year by Kirkus in multiple categories, and was a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award. She has an MFA from the University of Minnesota and has been teaching at Hamline for over a decade in the MFAC, MFA, and BFA programs.
