Yuchen is an international student from China who is serving as an advanced practicum counselor with Counseling & Health Services during the 2024-2025 academic year. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Minnesota. She is now a 5th-year student in the Counseling Psychology PhD program at the U of M. Prior to coming to Hamline, she completed training at the Student Counseling Service at the University of Minnesota, North Memorial Health, and the VA Medical Center. Her professional areas of interest include anxiety, depression, and trauma. She is interested in working with non-traditional college students, especially international students. Her therapy approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her current research focuses on healthcare workers' personal and workplace well-being. Outside of work, Yuchen enjoys reading and watching tv.
