Meyer to present on Disrupting Deficit Language in International Education

Kate Meyer from the GEC is presenting several times this month to regional and international audiences as part of two series on Study Abroad Inclusiveness. "Disrupting Deficit Model Thinking: Affirming ALL Communities in Global Learning* is part of a Diversity and Inclusion webinar series with the Barcelona SAE educational group, presented to a worldwide audience on Wednesday, October 12th.

Meyer will also present later this month on a panel at the NAFSA: Association of International Educators regional conference hosted in Minneapolis on "Financial Aid for Study Abroad - Challenges and Advice." Kate is active in international leadership roles through multiple professional organizations for study abroad and international education. She currently serves as NAFSA's Education Abroad Regulatory Practice Chair.
