Kate Meyer, Global Engagement Center, has won a regional award for her work in the field of education abroad. They were awarded the "Friend of the Region" from NAFSA (Association of International Educators) for leading financial aid literacy efforts for study abroad administrators and students. This work has led to them co-authoring (along with NAFSA and Student Veterans of America) a federal legislative bill to expand GI Bill benefit use with study abroad programming for student veterans. Meyer also presented at the most recent conference on these topics and remains a national NAFSA committee leader for the Education Abroad Regulatory Practice into 2023.
