In partnership with Global Minnesota and the U.S. Department of State, English and Communication Studies Department hosted a visit of seven international journalists who are Edward R. Murrow fellows. The fellows traveled to the U.S. from Bulgaria, Iraq, Kuwait, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Tunisia on April 8. The fellows were given a warm welcome by Interim/Acting President Kathleen Murray. English and Communication Studies majors including The Oracle staff members were given opportunities to meet and engaged in discussions with these international journalists. They also met with MinnPost editor Elizabeth Dunbar, St. Paul Pioneer Press editor and VP Mike Burbach, and Hamline alumna ’23 Anika Besst who is currently working as a news reporter at Minnesota Public Radio.
