Parrish Presents in Tampa

With the support of a US Department of State English Language Program Alumni Grant, HSEL professor Betsy Parrish co-presented Synergistic Vietnamese-US Collaboration: English Teaching Policy, Practice, and Agency, with Hamline alum Dr. Diana Dudzik; Dr. Huu Nguyen, Director, National Foreign Languages Project, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam (NFLP, MOET); Vu Thi Lua, Head of Academic Division (NFLP, MOET); and  Dr. Nhung Pham, President, Hue University of Foreign Languages and International Studies, at the International TESOL Convention in Tampa. They provided an overview of a national strategy for language teacher excellence in Vietnam. A second session, Promoting Teacher Growth through Communities of Practice in Vietnam, showcased the multiphase Communities of Practice Initiative that Betsy worked on as a State Dept. EL Specialist in Vietnam.
