Hamline's swim and dive teams recognized for academic success

Hamline University's men's and women’s swimming and diving teams were recognized as 2024 Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America. Hamline was among 417 institutions honored with this award for the spring 2024 semester.

These teams were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the spring semester. To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 during the spring 2024 semester.

“Congratulations to our men's and women's swimming and diving teams on being selected by the CSCAA for the Scholar All-America award,” said Alex Focke, Hamline Athletic Director and Assistant Vice President. “At Hamline University, we emphasize STUDENT-athletes and Coach Alex Card and his entire team have shown a commitment to academic success. NCAA Division III athletics gives student-athletes the opportunity to pursue their academics while continuing to participate in the sport they love.”

Samantha Barany, Executive Director of the CSCAA, praised the outstanding achievements, stating, "The commitment to academic excellence shown by these teams is truly admirable. It's inspiring to see student-athletes excelling both in the pool and in their studies. The CSCAA takes great pride in acknowledging and celebrating the dedication and perseverance of these teams."

Hamline University congratulates its swimming and diving student-athletes on this remarkable achievement. Their outstanding discipline in both the classroom and the pool clearly demonstrates the Piper mission of “doing all the good you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can.”
