Syeda Masood's article, "Encountering the Global Color Line: Racialized Afghan Identity in Occupied Afghanistan" has received the Best Graduate Student paper award from the American Sociological Association's section on Global and Transnational Sociology. This is a highly competitive award and is given to one student a year.
Masood is an incoming professor in the department of Social Justice and Social Change.
