A team from the Hamline economics program (students Reece Thomas, Matthew Maroney, Malina Kleinschmidt, Kaw Law Eh Moo and Vanessa Pham, along with professor Stacie Bosley) recently conducted research at the Minnesota State Fair as part of the University of Minnesota's Driven to Discover (D2D) research program. The Hamline group utilized this opportunity to study potential government regulations that could provide more information to consumers when considering risky business opportunities. Over 300 fairgoers participated in the study, and all received Hamline prizes for their participation. This research was supported by the Hamline Summer Collaborative Research program (which Matthew, Reece, and Stacie participated in this summer), and the William Kahlert Endowed Professorship in Economics.
