On Friday, October 4, Hamline University faculty members Kate Bjork, Suda Ishida, and Mike Reynolds partnered with the Minnesota Private College Council to host more than 20 faculty from English and History departments at 2- and 4-year institutions in a series of discussions about transfer student pathways. Participants learned more about the MPCC initiative to improve the experience for transfer students, heard from transfer students (including Hamline students Eleora Chamberlain and Carter Goulson) about their experiences, and discussed curricular challenges and opportunities. The workshop opened up exciting opportunities for future partnerships, including a student research symposium for English & Communication Studies projects from across our respective institutions, to be held in spring 2025 at Hamline.
