October 30 Update From the Presidential Search Committee

Dear Hamline Community,

The Presidential Search Committee met on October 21 and 22 to conduct 30-minute Zoom interviews with 15 presidential candidates. We have moved nine persons forward for semi-finalist interviews which will occur off campus on November 6 and 7.

All nine candidates have accepted our invitation, which is an encouraging response and a sign of strong interest in Hamline University. All of our candidates are well qualified for the position and bring extensive experience in higher education. We have a varied pool with a good mix of people coming from a variety of places and differing experiences in higher education. We expect to have a full, robust two days of interviewing with the goal of determining three candidates to be invited for more in-depth finalist interviews which will occur off campus on November 18, 19, and 20.

Requests for potential stakeholder representatives have been sent to Faculty Council, HUSA, HUSC, and Alumni Relations. These stakeholder representatives will meet with our finalist candidates in order to give feedback to the Search Committee.

We are excited about the caliber of candidates we have met, and are looking forward to meeting them in person for further conversation and discernment.

Sincerely,

Cindy Gregorson ’81
