Hamline Students Present at State Capitol

Two Hamline students, Emma Marsland (Criminology & Criminal Justice major), and Cece Chmelik (Biology/Environmental & Climate Studies major), participated in the Scholars at the Capitol event sponsored by the Minnesota Private Colleges Council on Wednesday, February 26. Emma presented the findings of the research project she collaborated on with Professor Shelly Schaeffer titled "Combatting the 'Gold Ole Boys Club': Women's experiences in policing in Minnesota", and Cece presented research findings from a collaborative project with Professor Leif Hembre titled "Patterns of gene flow among invasive earthworm populations". Both Cece and Emma were funded do their research by Hamline's Summer Undergraduate Collaborative Research (SCUR) program during the summer of 2024.
