Phone System Transfer is Complete

We have completed our switchover for users to the new phone system.  If you do not have an “Avaya” phone with square number buttons, your old phone will no longer function.  You still should be able to place and receive calls using the Avaya Cloud Office app on your computer or mobile device.  If you haven’t already, please visit our “Getting started with Avaya Cloud Office” article to get your voicemail greeting and PIN setup (you will need to login to the Central Service Desk portal to view article).  You can turn in your old phone at the Central Service Desk in Bush Library for recycling.

A few things to keep in mind:

  1. You should NOT dial “9” to get an outside line.  You just dial the number as you normally would from an off-campus phone or cell phone
  2. You are able to call other Hamline employees’ extension by just dialing their 4-digit extension now that everyone is migrated
  3. You will no longer be charged for continental US-based long distance.  This is included with the new system
  4. Even if you have a physical phone, we encourage you to check out your Avaya Cloud office account and application (login from https://www.hamline.edu/logins) to see other features.  There are many features around scheduling availability and ring types.
  5. You can find more information in the Hamline Service Desk portal (also linked off the Hamline logins page), including a link to some video tutorials.

Thank you for your time, cooperation, and patience with the migration.  This may seem like a small change, but it helps Hamline migrate off decades-old technology. If you have questions, please log a ticket through the Central Service Desk portal.
