HIPAL (Hamline Initiative for Professional and Academic Liaisons) hosted 23 Hamline STEM alumni on Monday, April 7, for a career/networking event for 120 students enrolled in Dr. Leif Hembre’s and Dr. Bonnie Ploger’s BIOL 1520: Integrated Concepts in Biology II course. The alumni represented a variety of STEM majors (Biology, Exercise Science, Forensic Science, Neuroscience, Psychology, Chemistry, Public Health, Biochemistry) and careers (Healthcare (medical school, PA), Research (biomedical, clinical), Forensics, Pharmacy, Business (dental/medical sales/manufacturing). Students met with 3 different alumni in small groups over the course of the event to learn about the day-to-day activities in STEM careers, the application process and experience needed to attain STEM careers, and how Hamline experiences shaped the career pathways for alumni.

<a data-saferedirecturl=" url="" www.google.com="">HIPAL in a STEM professional development program that is open to all Hamline STEM students.
