About the Young Physicist Camp
Supercharge your ideas! This weeklong high school summer day camp for students entering grades 9 through 12 will introduce you to the principles and best practices of innovation and enhance your understanding of renewable energy.
At camp, you will:
- Interact with local experts to learn the principles of renewable energy and the ins and outs of the innovation process
- Conduct hands-on experiments with energy conversion and storage devices like solar cells, supercapacitors, and lithium-ion batteries
- Work with a team to design renewable energy systems and to develop, write, and present an innovation plan

Who:
Students entering or in grades 9 through 12
When:
July 14 to 18, 2025, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where:
Hamline University’s Saint Paul campus (Google map)
Cost:
Before April 30: $598 per person
After April 30: $698 per person
Registration for this camp will open in early January.
Refund policy
Before April 30, we will charge you a $100 cancellation fee and then refund the remainder of your registration cost. After April 30, we will refund you 50% of your registration cost. After July 14, we will not provide any refund.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available based on financial need and are awarded on a first come, first served basis. We are a participant in the Summer Academic Enrichment Program, which will cover the full camp tuition for those who qualify.
To apply, take a few minutes to fill out the form and obtain the following two documents from a school official that (1) you are income eligible for free or reduced price lunches, and (2) you have either an overall “C” average or its equivalent for the most recently recorded academic term for the subject of science.
