For more than thirty years, Hamline University School of Education and Leadership has been a national leader in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

In 2024, the US Department of State honored Hamline University with the Top English Language Fellow Producing Institution Award, recognizing the high number of Hamline  MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages alums selected as 2023-24 State Department English Language Fellows, supporting US foreign policy objectives and educational exchange.
